LOCATION
WE HEARD YOU! LOCATION FOR THE MEDIA CENTER WILL RETURN TO THE MOTORCYCLE EXPO LOCATED AT 4th & LAZELLE STREET! The 2011 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Media Center will be located in the Motorcycle Expo, 1401 Lazelle Street with access through the lobby area or the back parking area on the north side of the building. This location will provide greater convenience and services for our registered media. Media will also have access to wireless internet and work space as well as fax, photocopying, printing, and other services available for nominal fees. The Media is encouraged to bring a laptop to access the wireless internet, as we do not have any available.
The 2011 Media Center will be open from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm, August 5th through August 13th.
PRESS CONFERENCES
Media Conferences will be conducted in the event that one of the following agencies chooses to call a press conference: the South Dakota Department of Transportation, South Dakota Highway patrol, South Dakota Department of Criminal Investigation, Meade County Sheriff, Sturgis Police Department, and/or any other City, County or State representative.
The registered media will be informed by the email listed on their Media pass application and the details of the press conference (including date, time and location) will also be posted on the Official Sturgis Motorcycle Rally website.
MEDIA PASSES ISSUED
The City of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Department issues media passes to those who submit an application with proof of credentials. Media passes must be requested each year. There is no fee to apply for a media pass.
You must personally check in at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Media Center to receive your pass. The media pass is only valid for the registered person and is not transferable. NO passes will be issued to one person on behalf of the entire staff EACH representative must check in to receive their pass.
The media pass provides free admission to the Main Street Photo Towers (located at Junction & Main Street and 4th & Main Street), Sturgis Motorcycle Museum (located at Junction & Main), and the Jackpine Gypsies Race/Hill Climb (located at 1216 Short Track Road).
SHIPPING
You may also ship your packages to your attention courtesy of the Media Center. Please send all packages or mailings to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Media Center (Attn: Name), 1401 Lazelle Street, Sturgis, SD 57785.
The Media Center will not have the ability to ship packages through UPS or FedEx; however, United States Postal Service Office is located adjacent to the Motorcycle Expo.
